WhatsApp is currently testing a new feature that will allow users to send video messages to their contacts on the messaging platform.
The feature, which is being developed and tested by WhatsApp beta tester WABetaInfo, will enable users to share short videos of up to 60 seconds.
This new capability is expected to enhance communication on WhatsApp by providing a more engaging and dynamic way to connect through videos.
The testing of the video messaging feature is currently underway on iOS version 23.12.0.71 and WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.13.4.
Users will find the option to send video messages located on the chat bar, alongside the buttons for attachments, camera, and WhatsApp Pay (available in select regions).
To check if the feature is enabled for their WhatsApp account, users can simply tap the microphone button within the chat bar during any conversation.
The ability to record and share video messages is initially being rolled out to selected beta testers who have installed the latest versions of WhatsApp beta for iOS and Android.
The feature is expected to reach a wider audience in the coming weeks as WhatsApp continues to refine and expand its testing phase.
