Lionel Messi, hero of Argentina's World Cup-winning squad, ordered gold iPhones for all of the players and staff who helped the side beat France in the final in Qatar 2022.
The 24-carat gadgets, valued gold £175,000 (About Rs. 1.73 crore), reportedly feature engraved names, numbers, and the Argentinian national team's logo. On Saturday, Messi had them sent to his apartment in Paris.
As one of their sources told it, "Lionel wanted to do something extraordinary and blingy to honor his happiest moment," the Sun reported. He contacted businessman Ben Lyons and the two of them developed the concept together.
According to the story, Ben, CEO of iDesign Gold, said, "Lionel is not only the Goat but he is one of IDESIGN GOLD's most loyal customers and he got in touch with us a couple of months after the World Cup final. He didn't want to give out watches or anything typical to the team as a way to show his appreciation for their incredible victory.
I suggested gold iPhones with their names engraved on them, and he thought that was a great idea.
Argentina beat France 4-2 on penalties to win their third World Cup, and Lionel Messi, their captain, won his first World Cup trophy.
Angel Di Maria, Leandro Paredes, Rodrigo De Paul, Alexis Mac Allister, Enzo Fernandez, Exequiel Palacios, Guido Rodriguez, Lionel Messi, Lautaro Martinez, Paulo Dybala, Angel Correa, Julian Alvarez, Thiago Almada, Alejandro Gomez, and Nicolas Tagliafico were all part of Argentina's World Cup-winning squad.
