Sebastián Arias, a homeless man in Lima, Peru, is being hailed as a hero after he risked his life to rescue 25 dogs trapped on the roof of a burning building.
Arias noticed that a recycling plant was on fire, and the flames had spread to a neighboring dog shelter. Despite his fear of heights, he climbed the three-story building, broke the windows, and helped rescue the remaining dogs from the fire.
A video of the incident went viral on Twitter, showing Arias reaching the terrace of the building through the balcony to save a stranded puppy.
Arias, who is a proud owner of three dogs, decided to take action because he couldn't bear the thought of seeing the animals burn to death.
Despite the danger and his own fear, he courageously evacuated the dogs from the rooftop.
He mentioned that the adrenaline kept him going, although the last dog bit his hand and had burns on its body. Arias aggressively grabbed the dog and tossed it to safety as the wall was collapsing.
This selfless act of bravery has gained widespread recognition, with people applauding Arias for his courage and compassion.
He hopes to find employment and get off the streets, expressing his willingness to learn any job quickly.
The incident serves as a reminder of the incredible acts of kindness and bravery that individuals are capable of, even in the face of personal challenges.
