Recently, an Austrian train running from Bregenz to Vienna made headlines when it played a recording of Adolf Hitler's speech and Nazi slogans over its loudspeaker system. The incident left passengers shocked and alarmed. According to reports, the train staff were unable to stop the recording or make their own announcements, adding to the distress of the passengers. The incident was one in a series of similar occurrences in recent days.
Passengers on the train recalled their horror upon hearing the Hitler speech and the Sieg Heil chants. One Green Party MP, David Stoegmueller, stated that the speech played for about 30 seconds, followed by the Sieg Heil chant. Journalist Colette Schmidt, who was also on the train, expressed her concerns on social media, questioning why an entire train had to hear Hitler's speech and Nazi slogans.
The train operator confirmed that these incidents were unauthorized and that someone had illegally accessed the intercom system. The operator reported the incident to the Austrian police, who are currently investigating the matter. Two individuals have been identified from the train's video surveillance and have been charged in connection with the incident. The spokesperson for the rail operator condemned the abuse and emphasized the need to punish such acts, particularly the illegal use of Nazi symbols.
