Former India opener Virender Sehwag has suggested that Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma's struggles with the bat during IPL 2023 are due to a "mental block," rather than any technical flaws. Rohit has only scored 184 runs at an average of 18.39 and a strike rate of 126.89 this season, with two consecutive ducks in his last two innings. Sehwag has blamed Rohit's poor form on "some confusion going on in his mind," and not his batting technique. Rohit is the leading scorer of ducks in IPL history, having recorded his 16th duck in the last game against Chennai Super Kings. Meanwhile, Cameron Green and Ishan Kishan have also been struggling in their opening partnership for Mumbai Indians, leading to criticism from former Australia batter Aaron Finch. In contrast, Virat Kohli has been in excellent form for Royal Challengers Bangalore, with 419 runs to his name in IPL 2023.
