A 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria claimed more than 29,000 lives, injured many others, and imprisoned many more under the wreckage.

The tragic earthquake produced a number of images that went viral online, some of which gave hope while others were devastating and frightening.

On social media, a video of two Turkish nurses going above and beyond to safeguard infants during the earthquake has gone viral. The video clip was captured by a hospital's CCTV system in Gaziantep.

When the earthquake shocks were felt, the nurses, Devlet Nizam and Gazwl Caliskan, chose to protect the infants in the newborn critical care unit rather than evacuate the facility.

Politician Fatma Sahin from Turkey tweeted the video.
